The Phoenician

One of my most memorable vacations from 2017 was visiting The Canyon Suites at The Phoenician. This particular trip was incredibly special to me as it was shared with one of my closest friends. As much as I absolutely love traveling with my girls, I always feel the need to come back to special locations (including The Phoenician) and experience it all once again with my husband.

When I was invited to visit The Phoenician again this year, I couldn’t contain my excitement. Not only would I have the opportunity to visit the desert and one of my favorite hotels once again, but I would finally be able to experience this special place with my love.

Only a year has passed since my last visit but to say The Phoenician had received a makeover during this time would be an understatement. The first time I was at this resort it had, in my opinion, already reached perfection. However, after truly seeing a ‘before and after,’ before my very eyes, I can confirm they have taken their resort to a new level. As I entered their main lobby for now the second time, I couldn’t believe how they transformed their space to be even more functional, modern and inviting.

When you are from Nova Scotia (or truly anywhere in Canada), the first thing to do on a sun holiday (following a cold winter) is make your way to the pool area. The Phoenician pool complex stretches the property between the main building and their newly designed spa. Just when you think you have seen all of their sparkling oasis, you can make your way down the stairs to their well known Mother-of-Pearl pool. We spent our time at the pool relaxing in one of their cabanas that was fully stocked with beverages and had the most incredible waiter service.

Another exciting aspect of this renovation (in addition to their fitness club, the on site Drybar and their delicious new restaurant, Mowry and Cotton), was their updated spa. I have spent my fair share time at spa’s throughout my life and I can say with confidence that I have never seen a spa like the one at The Phoenician. The new designed grand entrance, gold accents and rooftop pool has taken this spa to a level … that has no competition. We enjoyed their tranquility suite and relaxed during our Sonoran Signature Scrubs, Massages and Wraps. After a year of studying for board exams, The Phoenician (and in particular their spa) was the perfect place to relax and rejuvenate.
