Life is busy, hectic and sometimes goes by so quickly that we forget to take time for ourselves. With such a fast paced lifestyle, not only may we not take time to rest but can also strain our bodies, particularly our muscles, as a result of the consistent hustle and bustle. In the past few years, I have incorporated massages into my monthly self-care regime. Often, I do not get the chance to take the time to relax until I am out of town, but I have discovered quickly that this may actually be ideal.
After a long flight there is nothing I enjoy more than a massage once I drop off my bags at the hotel. Recently, when visiting Los Angeles, I booked a massage at the popular and Instagram worthy The Now on Beverly Blvd. This highly anticipated space did not disappoint! I was greeted by the most wonderful staff and surrounded by numerous cacti and succulents as I waited in their relaxing lounge. I then enjoyed a 80 min massage by what I initally thought was by the ocean. The dark room and hallway led to my own room that was lightly lit and the sound of waves that felt as if they were washing up to the table I was laying on. After my time at The Now, I headed back to the hotel where I was staying, took a hot shower and woke up rested with minimal jet lag and not an ache to be felt anywhere.
It is important that we continue to take time out of our busy schedules to relax and rejuvinate. We can only be truly productive in life if we are rested and in a good head space.
If you are in the LA area, I highly recommend making an appointment at The Now.
