Bedroom

Today, is the final day of my three-part interior series. Although sad to complete this series, there is always a closet, bathroom and outside living area to feature some day, right? Also, with my dream of building hopefully in the near future, there will be plenty more interior features to come.

Having a bedroom that is incredible comfortable, calming and an extension of my personality was very important to me. Luckily, my husband lets me take full control on all things design….well within reason. The bedroom in our home is quite large (closet and bathroom not shown….yet) but I didn’t want this space to feel empty nor cluttered. I opted to use this space to its full potential including adding a beauty area and a little corner to enjoy a cup of tea and a great book.

Kitchen & Entrance

Welcome back to the second instalment of my three-part interior series. Yesterday, I gave you an inside peak into my living area, and today I am looking forward to showing you the space in my home were I plan to spend more time in the New Year….the kitchen! Also, in this post you will see my entrance area in addition to my powder room.

Throughout my childhood I grew up in a white kitchen. Literally, everything in my childhood home was white. White kitchen, white walls, white bedding….white everything. Luckily my mother was the queen of up keeping a home (she didn’t get the nickname as Danny Tanner from nothing) and the white accents actually remained white. When discussing aesthetic with Lauren from houseofhiredesigns.com, all I could think of was the color white.

Living Room & Office

I can’t believe the day is here; the first day of my three-day interior series is now officially live. I have been holding onto these photos for the past few weeks with much anticipation to share with you all. Recently, my husband and I moved out of a town house into a smaller space due to the fact that both of our jobs (for this year only) are now shared between Halifax and Toronto. As much our current space is temporary (we plan to build in the next year or so….stay tuned) and will likely be short-lived, it was still very important to us to make the space both comfortable and liveable. For me, whether I was in a dorm room, renting an apartment or in a short-term home, I always felt it was important to come home after a long day of work to a space that was surrounded by comforting and personal décor

Home Office Makeover

Today, I am excited to introduce a new little corner on www.blarejune.com! I have always been interested in decor and design and as I am currently in the process of re-designing my home it felt like a natural transition to incorporate a interior category. I hope you enjoy my very first interior entry and be sure to check back regularly as I plan to continue to design real and ‘hypothetical’ spaces! Below is a recent entry I did in partnership with Leon’s Furniture!

Designing a home office isn’t always a simple task. When searching for furniture and accessories to fill our workspaces, we are often distracted by office supplies that not only look sterile but are a daily reminder of the pile of work that is calling our name. A home office does not need to resemble those of a call center but can be an extension of your own taste and décor that is in other areas of your home. We spend a lot of our time working so why can’t our office be stylish and inviting? It can!
