Today is the final entry of my three-part Bali series and I couldn’t be more excited to share this special last post with you all. Over the past two weeks, I shared where we stayed our first week and what we were up to. This week, I am giving you an inside peak into where my husband and I decided to spend our final week in Bali…..at the beautiful Four Seasons Resort at Jimbaran Bay. This one-of-a-kind resort was designed as a traditional Balinese village with luxurious villas spreading 35 acres of oceanfront. Immediately upon entering their outdoor lobby, we were greeted by the Four Season’s attentive staff with wet face towels and the resorts signature drink. As we made our way to the room in one of the many golf carts owned by the resort, I had difficulty controlling my excitement as we passed beautiful landscapes, restaurants and waterfront views.
As I gathered my photos for this post, I reminisced about three specific areas on the resort grounds that I still think of daily. Below are 3 of my top highlights from the beautiful Four Seasons Resort: Jimbaran Bay!
THE INFINITY POOL
As much I am an ocean baby, there is something about laying by pool with a cocktail and a great book that I sometimes prefer. What is better than a sand-less afternoon while still being next to the ocean? To be honest, I can’t think of much. This perfectly situated pool blends in with the turquoise waters of Jimbaran Bay that left me feeling like I spent the day in the ocean. Sitting poolside we were offered complimentary ice cream, fresh fruits, water, cold towels and sunscreen. If these treats weren’t enough, a Pool Terrance Cafe was a great option for a savoury lunch!
In all my life of traveling, I have never seen a more unique set up of rooms than I did at the Four Seasons at Jimbaran Bay. The grounds were inspired by traditional Balinese architecture, in which 147 villas were perfectly placed with views of the ocean in front. Each villa on the grounds was within a private stone-walled courtyard that included both outdoor and indoor living areas, lush gardens, a private infinity pool and a sun terrace. Although the bathroom in our villa consisted of a large stand alone tub and a spacious shower area, my preference continued to be using their outdoor shower (my mom would haven been proud, there is no need for a mess….right?).
Last but not least, Sundara may have been my favorite area of a hotel I’ve stayed at to date. Sundara is an indoor-outdoor resturant, bar and patio that is situated on the sands Jimbaran Bay. Most afternoons during our stay were spent on a Sundara sun bed. Between swimming in the pool or enjoying the ocean, we sipped on tropical drinks, frozen treats and chowed down on what will agreeably be the best nachos we both have ever had. Somedays when life is hectic and I don’t know if I am coming or going, I often think back to my time at the Four Seasons at Jimbaran Bay. It is memories like these, that are shared with loved ones, that keep me working harder and longer all year round.
My husband and I are currently finishing up some last minute travel details for an upcoming trip we have planned later this month! I plan to do a similar travel series on our next location. Any guesses? Stay tuned!
